Yay, finally Riolu! I like this poke, it's so cute! :3 But... I'm really hating to build paper fingers and paper toes!!! At least this lil' guy doesn't have spikes... *phew* See ya, I'm going to go and play Lostwinds: Winter of the Melodias!!!! XD (I so want to make a paper-Toku... Yeah, I'm random... )
Riolu: 3D model and texture editing by Brandon (aka !z8-0), further texture editing, template and buld by me. Available on our PaperpokÚs website [link] !
A4 is the paper format used mainly in Europe, and I believe South America. Letter is the paper format used in North america. I believe we put the complete info in our FAQs, so visit our website for even more details!
Thanks! Yeah, papercraft is an amazing hobby indeed. to avoid too many white lines, don't score your templates with a cutter, but use something like a dried up ballpen. And before scoring, analyze the 3D odel: not every single line needs to be scored/folded: curvy surfaces can be left untouched. Valley folds needs to be folded most of the times, tho.
We heven't released it yet, but when we release it, the only thing you'll have to do is to print out the templates, follow the pdo as a 3D instruction manual, and cut out and glue all the paper pieces! Pretty simple, isn't it? If you need some tips on how to do papercraft in general, just tell me!
Well, if the model permits me to do so, I build it from feet to head, and check how's the balance while I build it.This one had a slightly heavy tail, so I added a roll of scrap paper inside the nose. I tried out different weights as well, since too much weight made it topple forward instead of backwards. Same with other models: Cyndaquil too has a weight (a pebble) inside, near his mouth. And treecko has pebbles into his feet, and one inside his left arm!
Oh, well... I use vynil glue, and it has never betrayed me so far! Probably because I also roll and glue some paper around the pebbles, and then glue them inside the model. My friends usually use little coins, but I find the thing... Too expensive!
